Case Study: Land Use

Yes on G, No on F

Lennar Homes, City of San Francisco, California, 2009

In a very large citywide campaign that required a yes/no vote, we successfully passed Proposition G in San Francisco on behalf of Lennar Homes of California to allow the development of the Hunters Point Shipyard and Candlestick Point sites. Simultaneously, we defeated a poison pill measure, Proposition F, which would have required 50% affordable housing and killed private development on both sites. While the polls fluctuated dramatically, on Election Day, voters clearly heard our message: Prop. G got over 63% and we held Prop. F to 37%.
